The BRICS Business Council (BBC) is a platform established in 2013 that connects business to the BRICS governments. It promotes and strengthens economic, trade, and investment ties among these nations' business communities.

BBC comprises 45 senior executives and representatives from leading businesses (Chairs and Co-chairs) responsible for setting priorities and representing their respective countries. The key delivery is the BRICS Business Council’s Annual Report, with recommendations approved by the Chairs and Co-chairs in the BBC’s Annual Plenary Meeting and delivered to the Heads of State at the BRICS Summit.

Mission

To serve as a strategic platform for the business community to build consensus, recommend policies and cooperate to address challenges at BRICS level.

About BBC Brazil

Brazil holds the presidency of the BRICS Business Council in 2025, with the Brazilian National Confederation of Industry (CNI) as the host organization of this prominent mechanism. Brazil is committed to fostering a process that will yield strategic and effective recommendations to strengthen cooperation among member countries.

The theme “Business Cooperation for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future” will guide the initiatives of the BBC Brazil, covering 4 pillars of action. These pillars will steer discussions within the Working Groups and will form the foundation for proposals:

Energy Transition and Sustainable Development

Strengthening Intra-BRICS Trade and Supply Chain Integration

Innovation and Digital Transformation

BBC Governance and Integration of New Members

BBC Working Groups

To develop the recommendations, BBC operates through nine specialized Working Groups, each dedicated to discussing and developing strategic recommendations to enhance economic integration and improve the business environment across key sectors.
